* The top-rated 15 players from A will play in Premier with the winner of the 2004 A division, Rod MacNeil.

Players in Divisions A, B, C, D, and newcomers will be assigned to divisions based on 1 April 2005 ratings.
Those within 100 points of the cutoff may play up at their request and the directors' discretion.
An important change from past BATs: Players will qualify for Premier based on January, February, or March 2005 ratings lists, and thus Premier will be finalized by 16 February 2005.
